The International Festival of Fine Arts and Photography “BEAUTY OF THE COSTA BRAVA” takes place on the picturesque Costa Brava. Costa Brava means “wild coast” in Spanish. Its coastal ensemble is made up of picturesque rocky cliffs, interspersed with small bays and beaches.

The depth of the sea usually begins as early as a dozen meters from the shore. The region borders France, and its Mediterranean coast is bounded to the north and south by the resort areas of Costa Brava and Costa Dorada. On the border with France, in the town of Figueres, there is the Salvador Dali House Museum.
For many artists, the visual arts competition is a unique opportunity to be inspired by the beauty of the Mediterranean and to present their artwork for an international audience. Therefore, finding sponsors who can support young talents might be a great option to make this dream come true.

It is also a photography contest, which allows photographers to show their creativity and gather material for new artworks. The exchange of experience among creative people always creates strong relationships for years. Competitive artworks are evaluated by a professional international jury according to expert evaluation criteria.

Costa Brava is the northernmost Mediterranean coast of Spain. In fact, absolutely everything is provided here for a full-fledged creative realization. Mountains covered with pine forests descend to the sea, charming coves with secluded beaches interspersed with picturesque rocky cliffs.
In cozy bays along the Costa Brava coast are located numerous resort towns that provide everything for a good rest.

On your wish we can organize a trip to Tossa de Mar, a small and typically Spanish town with narrow picturesque streets, cozy cathedral square, nestled in a cozy rocky bay surrounded by beaches, cliffs, caves. A majestic medieval fortress towers over the central beach, guarding in the past the Spanish coast from pirate ships.

The Municipal Museum of Tossa that is located in the fortress exhibits the artworks of many artists who had spent their vacations here. Tossa de Mar is a town of romantics, artists and poets. Tourists from all over Europe are attracted by the tranquility and beauty of this place.

Two types of participation in the contest of fine arts

1.Participation in the competition;
2.Participation without the competition as part of the festival program*.

*For those who do not want to take part in the competition program and be evaluated by the jury, but want to perform at the festival in an open and friendly atmosphere. Exchange experiences, visit master classes and take advantage of excursion programs!

NOMINATIONS

▪️ Fine art;
▪️ Photo and video creativity (photo workshops, photo exhibitions, studios, authors);
▪️ Arts and crafts and design (art workshops, studios, independent masters).

AGE CATEGORIES OF THE PARTICIPANTS

I) Under 9 years old
II) 10-12 years old
III) 13-15 years old
IV) 16-19 years old
V) 20 to 25 years old
VI) over 26 years of age

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

▪️ Each participant can submit no more than 2 competitive works, format no more than A3;
▪️ The subject and technique of the work is various;
▪️ Tablets (for photographers cameras).

THE JURY

The jury staff of the international festival-competition consists of the artists and creative persons from Spain, France, Italy, Canada and Eastern Europe and Asia. The international jury is formed by the organizer of the festival.

The jury has the right:

To award not all prizes;
To divide the prizes between the performers;
Award special prizes to teachers for outstanding achievements;
Decide to terminate a performance that is outside the regulations;
The Jury evaluates the competitors on a 100 point system, the final result is made up of the average number of points received and the average value of the intermediate evaluations;
Decisions of the jury are final and are not the subject to revision.

The Evaluation Criteria:

▪️ creative individuality and skill of the author;
▪️ mastery of composition techniques;
▪️ mastery of the technique in which the artwork is done;
▪️ originality of the idea and execution;
▪️ coloristic solution.

PRIZES

According to the genres of performance and nominations the awards are divided into the groups:

— participants who scored up to 70 points become – diplomats (copper diploma);
— participants who scored from 70 to 79 points are laureates of the third degree (bronze diploma);
— participants who scored from 80 to 89 points become the laureates of the second degree (silver diploma);
— participants who scored from 90 to 99 points become the laureates of the first degree (the gold diploma);
— The participants who scored 100 points become the Grand Prizewinners of the Contest “BEAUTY OF THE COSTA BRAVA” (the platinum diploma).

Each participant receives personalized diplomas from the founders and organizers of the competition.

Each school receives an additional diploma in the engraving form from the authorities of Spain.

Each leader and sponsor of the team receives a letter of appreciation on a stamped paper of the Kingdom of Spain.

PROGRAM OF STAY

Day 1. Sunday:
— Hotel accommodation (hotel check-in from 2:00 p.m.)
— Meeting with the organizers of the contest;
20:00 – dinner.

Day 2. Monday:
8:00 — breakfast;
13:00 — lunch;
14:00 — first exhibition of works;
19:30 — dinner.

Day 3. Tuesday:
8:00 — breakfast;
09:00 — sightseeing tours, optionally (for extra charge);
13:00 — lunch;
20:00 — dinner.

Day 4. Wednesday:
8:00 — breakfast; free day;
09:00 — sightseeing tours, optionally (extra charge);
13:00 — lunch;
19:30 — dinner.

Day 5. Thursday:
8:00 — breakfast;
09:00 — sightseeing tours, optionally (extra charge);
13:00 — Lunch;
17:00 — the second exhibition of artworks on the main square of the city; rewarding of the participants on the stage of the main square of the city;
20:00 — dinner.

Day 6 Friday:
8:00 — breakfast;
— Check out from the hotel (before 10:00 am).

the last day of accepting the applications is 30 days before the beginning of the festival;
