For a long time, our hearts have been yearning to create something truly exceptional for the participants of our festivals and competitions, and finally we have discovered the jewel of the Mediterranean – the “Mediterranean Choir & Orchestra Games”.
This event is not just a competition; it is an immersive experience set against the stunning views of the MSC SEAVIEW cruise liner. We are thrilled to extend a warm invitation to you for the extraordinary “Mediterranean Choir & Orchestra Games” – an event that transcends the boundaries of conventional music competitions. Set against the breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea and hosted on board the MSC SEAVIEW cruise liner, this competition promises an unrivalled combination of music, travel and cultural enrichment.

All of our programs consist of two parts:
1. Participation in the competition;
2. Participation in the contest without competing in the competition*.
* For those who do not wish to take part in the competition programme and be evaluated by the jury, but who wish to perform within the framework of the competition in an open and friendly atmosphere. To exchange experiences, attend master classes and take advantage of excursion programmes!

- A. Children’s Choir (Up to 12 years old);
- B. Youth Choir (13 to 18 years old);
- C. Adult Choir (19 to 45 years old);
- D. Senior Choir (46 years and above);
- E. Mixed Age Group (participants from various age categories);
- F. Vocal Ensembles.
Categories:
- I. Academic Singing;
- II. Pop – jazz – gospel;
- III. World Sacred Music;
- IV. Folklore.
Mixed Ensembles:
- M. Open to groups combining vocal and instrumental elements.
Orchestra and Music Band Categories:
- A. Children’s Orchestras (Up to 14 years old);
- B. Junior Orchestra (14 – 18 years old);
- C. Adult Orchestra (19 years and above);
- D. Music Band;
- E. Marching Orchestras.
Performance time: maximum 15 minutes*
TERMS OF PARTICIPATION
Venue and Performance Setup:
- The competition and Gala concert will take place in one of the theaters on board MSC SEAVIEW cruise liner.
Phonogram Submission:
- In categories where a phonogram is used for performances, participants must send a phonogram in MP3 format to the e-mail address provided, together with a confirmation form, by the deadline indicated.
Instrumental Requirements:
- Participants requiring certain musical instruments for their performance must notify the organizers in advance. This ensures timely booking and availability of the required instruments
Rehearsal and Soundcheck:
- All participants will be allotted a specific time for rehearsal and sound check before their scheduled performance. It is essential to adhere to the allotted time for the smooth running of the competition.
Technical Requirements:
- Clearly outline any technical requirements such as lighting, sound equipment or special effects.
JURY and JUDGING CRITERIA
The jury of the “Mediterranean Choir & Orchestra Games” is staffed by outstanding artists, educators and producers. The exact list of jury members will be published closer to the beginning of the competition. The jury has the right
- not to award all the prizes;
- to share prize among performers;
- to award special prizes to teachers for outstanding achievements;
- to make a decision about breaking a performance which exceeds the bounds of the regulations;
- the jury’s decisions are final and are not subject to review.
Judging criteria:

- – Vocal Skills: 35 points;
- – Musical Interpretation: 30 points;
- – Stage Presence: 20 points;
- – Program Selection: 10 points;
- – Overall Impression: 5 points.
- Orchestra Categories:
- – Musical technique and mastery: 30 points;
- – Musical interpretation and expressiveness: 25 points;
- – Interaction and collaboration among participants: 20 points;
- – Program selection and originality: 15 points;
- – Overall impression and stage performance: 10 points.
- Mixed Ensemble Category:
- – Musical Performance: 35 points;
- – Interpretation: 30 points;
- – Creative Choice and Arrangement: 20 points;
- – Stage Presence: 10 points;
- – Overall Impression: 5 points.
AWARDS
The jury evaluates the participants on 100-point scale
- participants who received up to 70 points become diploma Holders;
- participants who received from 70 to 79 points – laureates of the third degree;
- participants who received from 80 to 89 points become laureates of the second degree;
- participants who received from 90 to 99 points become laureates of the first degree;
- participants who received 100 points become Winners of the Grand Prize of the contest “Mediterranean Choir & Orchestra Games”.
The Grand Prix winners received a large special crystal trophy and diplomas (one for each group/category) and a Special Cruise trophy cup MSC SEAVIEW.
- First place winners received a standard crystal trophy and diplomas (one per group/category);
- Second, third place and Diploma Holders winners received diplomas (one per group/category);
Each group / delegation is given a personalized certificate in the form of engraving on a special base for its contribution into the cultural international relations.
The leader of each group and sponsor is presented with a thank-you letter on stamped paper of the Kingdom of Spain.
*Each contestant in the group can request a named diploma and medal for 10 euros (before the competition).

1st day – Arrival in Barcelona:

2nd day – Boarding day on cruise liner:

– Boarding – registration, cruise card issuance,

– General meeting for all participants and a separate meeting with group leaders,
– Evening program.
3rd day – Cannes Research:
– Breakfast,
– Half-day optional excursion to explore Cannes (for additional cost),

– Dinner in a restaurant or buffet,
– Evening program.
4th day – Milan or Genoa Excursion and First part of the competition:
– Breakfast in the buffet or restaurant,
– Full-day excursion to Milan or excursion to Genoa (optional, for additional cost),
– First part of the competition in the theater,
– Lunch,
– Dinner,
– Creative meetings, masterclasses,
– Evening program.
5th day – La Spezia Exploration and Second part of the competition:
– Breakfast in the buffet or restaurant,
– Full-day excursion to La Spezia (optional, for additional cost),

6th day – Exploration of Rome:
– Breakfast,

- Group excursions must be booked in advance with the official organizer for proper coordination;

PERIOD OF ACCEPTING THE APPLICATIONS
- the last day of receiving of the applications is for 70 days before the beginning of the competition for participants who do not require a visa;
- the last day of receiving of the applications is for 90 days before the beginning of the competition for participants who require a visa;
- the last day of payment is for 60 days before the beginning of the competition;
- terms and conditions of the agreement are to be requested from our managers.
