Report of the International Festival-Competition “Sea Sun Festival 2026” (August, 2026)

From August 2 to 7, 2026, the famous Spanish resort of Lloret de Mar on the Costa Brava coastline became the ultimate destination for artists from all over the globe. August is traditionally considered a peak holiday month worldwide; however, for Fiestalonia Milenio, borders and seasons present no boundaries. The international project “Sea Sun Festival” once again proved its phenomenal popularity by gathering hundreds of exceptional talents!

Sea Sun Festival is far more than a prestigious competition—it is a unique platform of distinction that transcends standard contest formats. Here, artists gain access to an international artistic network, elevate their stage status, exchange invaluable experience with global peers, and receive professional feedback from recognized authorities in European arts.

This year, the stage came alive with versatile choreographic, vocal, and choral ensembles and soloists from China, Taiwan, Georgia, Spain, Germany, Kazakhstan, and beyond.

To watch how this extraordinary showcase unfolded, check out our official recap video on the Fiestalonia YouTube channel.

Competition Day at Teatre de Lloret

The main competitive viewings were held in the professional atmosphere of the Municipal Theater of Lloret de Mar (Teatre de Lloret), strictly evaluated by an expert international jury panel.

First Half of the Day: Choreographic Arts

Dancers took the stage first, delivering a mesmerizing kaleidoscope of cultures and styles: distinctive national dances from Kazakhstan, colorful ethnic motifs from Georgian performers, expressive street dance from China and Germany, as well as refined classical ballet and deeply emotional contemporary pieces from Taiwanese masters.

Evaluating the choreographic section was a stellar panel of international judges:

  • Noelia Muñoz Gavilán — Dance and vocal performing arts professor with over 13 years of experience. Head of Studies, Ballet and Jazz teacher in Barcelona, as well as a master of academic vocals.
  • José María López Santamaría — Classical Dance Teacher at the professional conservatory Institut Escola Artística Oriol Martorell. Former soloist at the State Theater of Schwerin (Germany), Head of the Dance Department at Les Arts School, and Artistic Director of the Baix Montseny Dance Competition.
  • Eugènia Mur — Dancer, teacher, and choreographer specializing in jazz and tap. Graduate in Choreography and Dance Performance Techniques from the Conservatori Superior de Dansa de l’Institut del Teatre.

Second Half of the Day: Vocal & Choral Mastery

The vocal category at Fiestalonia events always carries special prestige. Performing on an international stage before European producers offers vocalists a powerful springboard for their global artistic careers.

Evaluating the vocal and choral acts were distinguished masters from Spain and Catalonia:

  • Xavier García Cardona — Conductor, pianist, and composer graduated in orchestra conducting from Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona. Artistic director of the chamber music series “Estones de Clàssica” at Ateneu de Sant Just Desvern and member/collaborator of the Spanish Association of Choir Directors.
  • Clàudia Dubé Oranías — Choir and orchestra conductor leading renowned vocal ensembles such as Cor Madrigalista and Cor Perla de l’Havana, who conducted a massive choral project with 700 young singers at the Auditori de Barcelona.
  • Noelia Muñoz Gavilán — Master of academic vocals and performing arts professor.

Open-Air Showcase & Grand Prix Triumph

That evening, the festival celebrations moved to the town’s central square — Plaça de Pere Torrent. The Grand Gala Concert featured the finest routines of the competition, creating a vibrant celebration of music and dance for locals, tourists, and international guests.

The evening culminated in the solemn Award Ceremony. Winning the competition’s ultimate honor — the Grand Prix — was:

CHU, YU-HAN (TAIWAN) The outstanding soloist captivated the jury and earned the maximum score for her spellbinding contemporary dance performance “Floating Measure”!

Masterclasses, Excursions & Sacred Concert at Sagrada Família

Following competition day, the festival program continued across multiple locations:

  • Jazz Dance Masterclass: At Teatre de Lloret, jury member Noelia Muñoz Gavilán conducted an exclusive session for dance groups. Dancers refined isolation techniques, rhythmic control, and the expressive dynamics characteristic of classical Spanish jazz-modern dance.

  • Excursions & Leisure: Participants spent their free time exploring the architectural wonders of Barcelona, shopping for world-renowned brands at La Roca Village, or enjoying high-thrill attractions at PortAventura Park.

Chinese Delegation’s Concert at the Crypt of Sagrada Família

A deeply spiritual highlight of the festival was the special acoustic performance by the Chinese delegation inside the Crypt of the Sagrada Família in Barcelona.

Beneath the magnificent arches of Antoni Gaudí’s masterpiece, two distinguished choirs performed under the direction of conductor Liu Mei:

  • Shenzhen Press Group Education Media Group Choir
  • Shenzhen Golden Bell Youth Choir, Shenzhen Middle School

For over an hour, churchgoers, tourists, and music lovers listened in awe to sacred and folk compositions. The pure voices of the young choristers resonated through the ancient stone vaults, creating an atmosphere of pure harmony and reverence.

This prestigious occasion was attended in person by the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Barcelona — Ms. Meng Yuhong (孟宇宏), highlighting the cultural significance and high state-level prestige of Fiestalonia events.
