Report of the Festivals “Sing & Smile” and “Fiestalonia Georgia” (October, 2025)

This October, the hospitable city of Tbilisi warmly welcomed participants of two bright international festivals — “Sing & Smile” and “Fiestalonia Georgia”, organized by Fiestalonia Milenio.
For six unforgettable days, from October 20 to 25, 2025, the Georgian capital became a meeting point of cultures and talents from around the world. The event once again confirmed the mission of Fiestalonia — to unite nations through art and creativity on the international stage.

A Celebration of Cultures and Talents

Over the course of five festival days, participants had the opportunity not only to showcase their skills but also to discover the rich traditions and warm hospitality of Georgia.
The festival brought together representatives of seven countriesGeorgia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Israel, and Russia — who shared their national color and artistic identity with audiences and fellow performers.

The competition program was distinguished by its diversity of genres. On a single stage, audiences could hear pop and academic vocals, witness the mastery of instrumentalists performing on instruments ranging from the piano to the national dombra, enjoy theatrical performances, explore art exhibitions, and be inspired by impressive choral concerts.

Professional Jury

The participants were evaluated by a highly respected panel of Georgian and international cultural figures:

  • Nodar Zhvania — National Artist of Georgia, musician, and Professor at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire.
  • Boris Dzneldze — Associate Professor at the Choral Conducting Department of the Faculty of Performance, Tbilisi State Conservatoire.
  • Natia Mtiulishvili — Choir conductor, Master’s degree holder, winner of numerous international competitions, and Head of the vocal ensemble “Gross Octet.”
  • Teona Glonti — Artist, educator, and member of the Georgian Artists’ Union. Holds a Master’s degree from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts and has extensive experience in teaching painting and graphics.

Competition Day — October 21

The main competition performances took place on October 21 at the Assembly Hall of the First Building, Tbilisi State University.
Participants amazed the jury and the audience with their artistic individuality, musical taste, and high level of preparation. Each performance turned into a real celebration of creativity and international friendship.

Exploring Tbilisi — October 22

After an intense competition day, participants had the chance to immerse themselves in Georgian history and culture.
Fiestalonia Milenio organized a guided city tour of Tbilisi, during which guests explored the Old Town, Rustaveli Avenue, Abanotubani (Sulphur Baths area), and the Bridge of Peace.

The tour revealed the city’s centuries-old charm — from the ancient Narikala Fortress, guarding Tbilisi for centuries, to the tranquil banks of the Kura River.
Participants learned about the city founded by King Vakhtang Gorgasali in the 5th century AD and its role as a cultural and trade center on the Great Silk Road.

Some guests also visited the famous Georgian Thermal Baths, praised by Alexander Pushkin himself for their luxury and healing sulphur springs — a true symbol of Tbilisi’s heritage.

Choral and Cultural Journey

For the participants of the “Sing & Smile” festival, the Georgian adventure continued with an inspiring cultural tour and concert program across the country.
Choirs from Bulgaria, Cyprus, and Russia had a unique opportunity to perform in historic Georgian churches, where music and spirituality merged into one unforgettable experience.

Excursion Highlights:
Day 1 — Mtskheta Tour:

  • Visit to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral
  • Visit to Samtavro Monastery
  • Visit to Jvari Monastery

Day 2 — Kakheti Tour:

  • Visit to Alaverdi Monastery
  • Visit to Ikalto Monastery
  • Visit to Twins Wine Cellar
  • Participation in traditional Georgian master classes — baking bread, making churchkhela, and grape harvesting for wine production.

All of this was accompanied by choral singing, creating a unique cultural and emotional atmosphere throughout the journey.
