Different settings. Different preparations.

01 / THE COMPETITION

Municipal Theatre of Lloret de Mar

Prepare for a performance before an international jury. The category determines repertoire requirements, and the published rules set the performance duration and technical arrangements.

02 / MONTSERRAT

An optional basilica performance

Participating choirs prepare one a cappella work suitable for the venue. The Montserrat concert is optional; the transfer and excursion are charged separately. The festival manager confirms the arrangements.

03 / THE FESTIVAL

Gala and shared musical activities

The programme includes the gala concert and awards ceremony. Friendship concerts and masterclasses may be scheduled as described in the programme; timings and arrangements can be adjusted by the organisers.

These are opportunities within a festival programme. A request does not reserve a venue, confirm a standalone concert or guarantee a particular audience size.

Plan the performance before the itinerary.

Repertoire and format

Share your proposed programme, running time and whether your choir performs a cappella or with accompaniment. For a competition, check category and age requirements. For a sacred venue, consider the suitability of each work.

Golden Voices of Montserrat sets a competition singing time of 7–15 minutes. Specific a cappella requirements depend on the category; the published rules remain the reference.

Technical and group requirements

Discuss the number of performers, instruments, accompaniment and any additional equipment before travel. Equipment beyond the event’s published provision may need to be brought by the choir or requested at extra cost.

Include access needs and practical constraints early so the festival team can check what is possible. Arrangements depend on the chosen programme and venue.

From first idea to confirmed programme

How to start organising your choir’s visit.

1. Describe your choir

Send your country, preferred dates, singer numbers, age range and musical style. Tell us whether you are looking for competition participation or a festival experience.

2. Review suitable options

Check the programme, repertoire rules and possible performance settings with the team. Discuss travel, accommodation and additional requirements alongside the musical plans.

3. Confirm the details

Review the quotation and participation terms. A venue or performance arrangement is confirmed only through the organiser’s booking process, not by sending an initial enquiry.

Combine concerts with a choir tour.

Golden Voices of Montserrat runs on 2–6 April 2027, with accommodation on the Costa Brava and a programme centred on choral music. The optional Montserrat transfer and excursion is €42 per person in addition to the festival package.

For your wider itinerary, explore choir tours in Europe. To compare other dates and destinations, use the international choir festival calendar.

Questions from choir organisers.

Can you confirm a concert in a specific church or hall?

Send the venue and date you have in mind so the team can assess the request. No specific venue, date or standalone concert is promised until the organiser confirms it.

Does the Montserrat visit include a performance for every traveller?

No. Only participating choirs that prepare suitable a cappella repertoire take part in the performance, subject to the confirmed festival arrangements. Accompanying guests can ask about joining the visit.

Can we request additional instruments or equipment?

Yes, you can submit your requirements for review. Availability and any additional fees must be confirmed in advance; the full festival rules describe the standard provision.
