The Montserrat experience
Choir performances

The festival offers choirs the opportunity to perform in the Basilica of Montserrat — a remarkable setting for an a cappella piece, shared with fellow singers and visitors.
The Montserrat concert is optional. Choirs prepare one a cappella piece suitable for the basilica. Transfer and excursion cost €42 per person, in addition to the festival package. Your manager will confirm the arrangements.

Children’s & youth choirs
Children aged 7–16; youth aged 16–25. Minimum 16 singers.
B
Vocal ensembles & chamber choirs
3–16 singers, with age categories from 7 years to adults and mixed ages.
C
Adult choirs
Female, male and mixed choirs. Ages 18+, minimum 17 singers.
D–F
Sacred music · Folklore · Pop, jazz & gospel
No age or singer-count restrictions in these categories.
G
Academic singing
Classical repertoire, including opera, operetta and arias. Age categories start at 11.
Competition singing time: 7–15 minutes. Repertoire and a cappella requirements depend on the category. The full rules apply.

in Spain.
Your base is Lloret de Mar on the Costa Brava. Your days bring together performances, learning and the possibility of a special journey to Montserrat.
This is the published outline programme. The organisers may adjust the schedule. Transfers, excursions and extra nights are available at an additional cost.

Possible friendship concerts and masterclasses, followed by the gala concert and awards ceremony.
Day 05
Take the music home.

Tourist tax, airport transfers, excursions and extra services are additional. The optional Montserrat transfer and excursion costs €42 per person. Additional competition category: €295 per group. Hotel availability is confirmed when booking.
The programme offers a 10% package discount for accompanying guests who do not perform or attend workshops, and a free package for each 25th group participant. Ask your manager to confirm how these terms apply to your group.

Where and when does the festival take place?
Golden Voices of Montserrat takes place on 2–6 April 2027 in Spain. The competition is held in Lloret de Mar on the Costa Brava, with an optional visit and choir performance at the Basilica of Montserrat.
Can we participate without competing?
Yes. The official programme offers festival participation without entering the competition, including educational activities and friendship concerts. Tell Diana which format interests you.
Is the Montserrat performance included?
The performance is an optional part of the festival. The transfer and excursion cost €42 per person in addition to the package. Participating choirs must prepare one a cappella piece suitable for the basilica. Your manager will confirm the arrangements and repertoire requirements.
Do we need to know our final group size now?
No. An approximate number of singers is enough for an initial discussion. Include conductors and accompanying guests in the optional total-travellers field if you already know the number. Final details will be confirmed during the application process.
Can soloists enquire?
The festival focuses on choirs and vocal ensembles. Its published rules also include Academic Singing, with age groups starting at 11. Choose “Academic soloist” in the form and ask your manager to confirm eligibility and the appropriate category.
Can you help with transfers and extra nights?
Airport and station transfers, optional excursions and extra hotel nights can be arranged at an additional cost. Share your plans with Diana so the quote includes the services you need.
What is the application deadline?
The published deadline is 30 days before the festival begins, with final payment due 21 days before the start. Places and hotels are subject to availability. Start with an enquiry or complete the application on the full festival page.
How will you use my enquiry details?
