Report of “Musica Del Mar” (June, 2024)

The international vocal and instrumental contest “MÚSICA DEL MAR” is one of the largest competitions held in Europe. This year, it took place from June 27 to 30 in the stunning and picturesque location of Tossa de Mar. For a few days, this town is immersed in musical streams flowing in from all over the world. Participants of the festival not only become tourists on the Spanish coast but also a part of international culture, receiving well-deserved applause from the audience.

This year’s competition program was divided into two sections: the first included instrumental genres and a cappella performances, and the second featured vocal and pop singing with accompaniment. The competition days were held at two venues – Casa de Cultura in Tossa de Mar and Casino Costa Brava in Lloret de Mar. The GALA CONCERT and the Awards Ceremony traditionally took place at the amazing 12th-century castle-fortress Villa Vella in Tossa de Mar. From the magnificent stage and spectator seats, there is a picturesque view of the Mediterranean Sea and the most beautiful bay on the Costa Brava.
